ACCOMMODATION

Typically I use hotels.com to price compare with booking.com to be sure I am getting the best deal.  I’ve found options within the US are sometimes better on hotels.com.   I also love that they have a loyalty program- when you sign up, you get your 10th stay for free!  They also have excellent customer service.  Any time I have had to cancel a reservation, I have had no issues at all!

In my experience, Booking.com has the widest range of budget friendly accommodations at much better rates than other search engines.  Their website is super easy to use and will show you pictures of the property, reviews, and even break down room options in a nice clean spread sheet.  They have great options from anywhere in the world, and also offer flights, packages and even tours!  Booking.com can be a one stop shop to making your travel planning much easier. 

VRBO is just like airbnb, but has some of the best beach house options!  You can even search specifically for bed and breakfast.  I’ve even found the same rentals from Airbnb on VRBO for cheaper!

TOURS & AIRPORT PARKING

Get Your Guide is the best resource for finding and booking tours, shows, and activities anywhere in the world!  Their easy to use website gives you lists of what to expect, and breaks down what’s included and not included in your ticket price.  Some tours even give you lists on what to pack. 

Shipping Across The Globe VIATOR Travel Activities

Viator is a similar company to Get Your Guide.  With a variety of food tours, airport transfers, museum tickets and more, you will find things to do anywhere in the world on Viator.  I find  their service to always be top notch and highly recommend booking through their easy to use website!  Try looking for activities on both Viator & Get Your Guide to compare pricing and customize to better suit your needs.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much money I have saved using Airport Parking Reservations.  Using this website, you can enter in your departure airport and easily book your parking for WAY cheaper than through the airport itself.

FLIGHTS

Not every flight search engine shows all airlines including small budget airlines.  But Skyscanner does, does making it a MUST for getting the best deal out there.  

Skyscanner also has an option to search “everywhere” as your destination if you haven’t decided on a destination yet.  This makes it super easy to price compare!  You can also book hotel rooms and car rentals.  Skyscanner is a no brainer, and is a one stop shop!

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE

I use World Nomads for almost any trip.  Keep in mind, most medical coverage you have in your home country does not cover expenses while traveling.   The World Nomads website is super easy to navigate and claims are simple to submit.  Plus, this coverage can help with flight cancellations or delays and even lost luggage!  Just be sure to read the fine print (like all insurance) to be sure you are getting the right plan for you.
